Boiler Installers
Beginning January 1, 2006, any new boiler installed and operated in this state, unless otherwise exempted below, must be designed and constructed in accordance with the ASME Code or a nationally recognized code of construction (International Mechanical Code). Any new boiler installed in this state must be marked in accordance with the code of construction and must be registered with the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (614-888-0750).
Boiler Installers are licensed by the Contractors Licensing Board.

NBIC 1.4.4 New Installation Inspection:
The National Board Inspection Code Part 1 Section 1.4.4 requires all new installations to be inspected and tested prior to commencing operation. Upon completion, Part 1 Section 1.4.55 requires the installer to complete and certify the Boiler Installation Report (1-1). Copies of the report must be given to the owner for the boiler file. Until received, a Boiler Operating Certificate cannot be issued. Testing and maintenance must be performed by qualified technicians.
