Do you hold a professional or occupational license in another state? And, are you married to and living with an active duty member of the United States Armed Forces who is relocated to and stationed in South Carolina under official military orders? If you answered yes to both of these questions, then you may be eligible for an expedited license in South Carolina.

South Carolina is proud to be one of the nation's most military-friendly states, and at LLR, we are committed to providing efficient and comprehensive services to our military members and their spouses. In an effort to assist military spouses who are relocating to South Carolina, our state allows for an expedited licensure process for those military spouses who hold an active license in good standing in jurisdictions outside of South Carolina. LLR prioritizes military spouse applications to ensure they are processed as quickly as possible.

If you are interested in applying for licensure, please complete the Military Spouse Expedited Licensure Request Form, and a member of our staff will contact you directly to provide you with guidance on the additional information the state needs to grant licensure. Please be prepared to provide your military orders to South Carolina, your marriage license, and verification of licensure in every jurisdiction that issued you a license (active or not).

If you have questions that you would like answered before you complete the expedited licensure form, then please email those questions to militaryspouseinfo@llr.sc.gov, and one of our staff members will contact you with the information you need.
