Immigration Assistance Services Licensure
The South Carolina Illegal Immigration Reform Act requires a person providing immigrant assistance services, as described in Chapter 83, South Carolina Code of Laws, to obtain a business license from the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR).
The law requires the Director of LLR to develop regulations for the implementation, administration and enforcement of the "Registration of Immigration Assistance Services” law. Regulations were promulgated and became law effective March 26 2010. You may review the state immigration law and the related regulations by going to: https://www.scstatehouse.gov/code/t40c083.php.
