Renewal Tips

Login Portal to Renew Electronically

  1. Renew timely and renew online. Once you have completed all required Continuing Education, log into the LLR Online Services Portal to renew. There is no late renewal period. If you miss the renewal deadline, you must:
    1. For individual licenses, you must submit a reinstatement application,
    2. For Mobile Dental Facilities and Portable Dental Operations you must submit a new
  2. Know your Online Portal User ID and Password. Your User ID and Password must be used to access your online account. If you forget your login information please follow the below steps:
  3. If you have a valid email address on file with the Board go to LLR's eService Platform and click on “I Forgot/Do Not know my User ID and/or I Forgot My Password.”
  4. If you do NOT have a valid email address on file with the Board please email the Board at contact.dentistry@llr.sc.gov and provide your name, license number, last 5 digits of your social security number, and current email address. Once your email is updated, a password reset will be sent via email.
  5. Keep up to date on news from the Board. – During the renewal period, the Board will send out updates via email. Make sure the Board has your correct email address on file, and be sure to check your SPAM folder.
  6. Pay by proxy. – You can designate a proxy payer for renewal. This information will come up as an option under Online Services during your renewal.
Active Renewal Periods and Fees
Veterinarian

Renewal Fee: $340

Renewal Period: October 1, 2026-January 1, 2027

Renews on odd years by January 1

Late Renewal Period: January 2 - February 1 of odd years

Late Renewal Fee: $100 + $340 = $440

After February 1, 2027, you must apply to reinstate your license.

Restricted Faculty Veterinarian

Renewal Fee: $340

Renewal Period: October 1, 2026-January 1, 2027

Renews on odd years by January 1

Late Renewal Period: January 2 - February 1 of odd years

Late Renewal Fee: $100 + $340 = $440

After February 1, 2027, you must apply to reinstate your license.

Veterinary Technician

Renewal Fee: $80

Renewal Period: October 1, 2026-January 1, 2027

Renews on odd years by January 1

Late Renewal Period: January 2 - February 1 of odd years

Late Renewal Fee: $10 + $80 = $90

After February 1, 2027, you must apply to reinstate your license.

Continuing Education (CE)
  1. You must have completed your CE requirements before you can renew your license.

    South Carolina Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners CE Requirements
  2. All CE must be reported to CE Broker

    CE Broker is the official CE tracking system of the Board. If you have not yet activated your account, this can be done by visiting CE Broker.
Active Duty Military

Active duty military personnel seeking the fee or CE exemption cannot renew online. Please contact the Board for a paper application.

SECTION 40-1-610. Continuing education exemption.

A person whose profession or occupation is regulated by this title is exempt from completing continuing education requirements for his profession or occupation while serving on active military duty

SECTION 40-1-620. License fee exemption.

A person whose profession or occupation is regulated by this title may not be assessed, and is exempt from being required to pay, a license fee for his profession or occupation for a calendar year in which he serves any period of active military duty.
