Guidelines for Apprentice Auctioneer’s and Supervisors
Online Application
- Step 1: Print all required documents.
- Step 2: After completing all required documents, visit the Online Application Portal and begin the online application.
- Step 3: Online Application Portal. In order to complete the online application, all required documents must be uploaded and payment submitted.

Examination Information
Once a completed application is received and approved, the applicant will be made exam eligible. Applicants will receive notification from Prov when they are authorized to register for the examination. Applicants are responsible for registering and scheduling with Prov. The examination registration fee is to be paid directly to Prov upon registration.
Exam eligible applicants are encouraged to review the Prov Auctioneer Candidate Information Bulletin.
Apprentice Auctioneer Program
Once an application has been approved and the examination has been passed, the applicant will be licensed as an apprentice auctioneer. To complete the apprenticeship, the licensed apprentice must participate in 80 hours of supervised training: 40 hours of auctioneering, 10 hours of auction ringing, 20 hours of clerking, and 10 hours of cashiering. The apprenticeship must last at least one year but no more than two years.

Examination Information
If an owner or manager of the firm is not a SC license auctioneer, once a completed application has been received and approved, the individual will be authorized to take the examination. The examination is administered by Prov, Inc. Applicants will not be authorized to take the exam until a complete application is on file.
