License renewals for 2025-2027 closed on January 31, 2025.
Licenses not renewed by January 31, 2025 have lapsed in accordance with §40-28-60(B). Licensees with lapsed licenses may apply for late renewal February 1, 2025 through March 31, 2025, with a $20 late fee assessed for a total of $220. §40-28-80(B).
Licensees with a lapsed license are not authorized to engage in the public practice of landscape architecture, unless officially notified of reinstatement. Licensees practicing as a landscape architect in this State during the time that their license has lapsed has engaged in unlicensed practice and may be subject to disciplinary action. §40-28-60(C).
Licenses not renewed by March 31, 2025, must apply for reinstatement[CS1] . Applicants must submit a satisfactory explanation of failure to renew, meet all requirements for licensure, and pay reinstatement fee in the amount of $250 in addition to the current renewal fee. §40-28-60(B), S.C Code Regs. 76-5(C) (2023).
Licensees applying for reinstatement after January 31, 2027, or more than two years after a license has lapsed, must certify they have not practiced in South Carolina after the date that the license expired, meet all requirements for licensure in effect at the time of the reinstatement app.
