As many of you are aware, the Governor has announced that close contact businesses in this State can re-open on Monday, May 18. This includes massage establishments and services. The Governor’s task force, accelerateSC, has developed and posted on its website general guidelines for the re-opening and operation of these establishments. Additionally, there are guidelines specifically designed for cosmetology salons that you may find helpful to your massage establishment. You may also access these guidelines as well as other information related to COVID-19 on the Agency’s website.
The renewal start date for Massage Therapists and Massage CE Providers is May 4, 2020 and the renewal deadline has been extended to September 30, 2020.
The Panel is continuing to monitor the challenges presented by COVID-19 (coronavirus) as the situation progresses, and will provide additional guidance in regards to issues that may emerge, as circumstances warrant.
The Panel suggests that licensees review and be familiar with federal OSHA and CDC information regarding COVID-19 and the workplace, businesses and employees.
Federal OSHA has published Guidance on Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19 to help companies respond in the event of coronavirus in the workplace. The CDC has also provided Interim Guidance for Businesses and Employers.
