Renewal Time Is Approaching!

Current South Carolina massage therapy licenses will expire at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022. Courtesy reminders will be e-mailed to the e-mail addresses the Board has on file in April. Licenses not renewed as of July 1, 2022, will be considered expired, and the reinstatement process must be completed in order for you to continue to provide massage therapy services. It is unlawful to practice without a current license.

To avoid a delay in massage services, please ensure that you have a valid e-mail address on file with the Panel's office as you will need it to access the online renewal. Passwords will not be printed on the courtesy renewal notices. If you need to update your email address, please contact BoardInfo@LLR.SC.GOV (ensure that you supply your name and massage license number for easier identification). Once the e-mail address is updated, you will receive a link to reset your password.

REMINDERS:

Name Changes - In order to avoid a delay in processing your online renewal, please submit name change requests, along with a copy of your legal documentation (marriage license, divorce decree), to BoardInfo@LLR.SC.GOV.

New Licensees - If this is your first time renewing, you are not required to complete continuing education for the first renewal.

Continuing Education - Massage therapists must obtain 12 hours of massage CE during the licensure period prior to renewing their massage licenses. The licensure period is July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2022. Massage therapists are required to submit their CE to CE Broker. There will be a CE audit; therefore, please ensure that your 12 hours of CE are recorded with CE Broker: https://cebroker.com/sc/plans.

Inactive Status - If you have not obtained CE during the licensure period of July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2022, you may place your license on inactive status within the online renewal period. If you do not wish to maintain active licensure, you may place your license on inactive status via the online renewal process or you may submit a paper renewal application and select the inactive status box. You do not have to be current on your CE requirements in order to request inactive status; however, you will not receive a license and cannot practice or render massage-related services while the license is inactive. You are required to pay the renewal fee in order to maintain inactive status. In order to return to active licensure, you will be required to take CE classes for each renewal period while on inactive status.

CE Providers - In order to continue to offer CE classes, you must renew your provider license.
