  • The Board of Pharmacy has proposed changes to the SC Code of Regulations, Chapter 99, regarding compounding medications for use in veterinary practice.  The intent of the regulation change is to clarify that pharmacists may compound office use drug preparations for veterinarians, which may be dispensed by the veterinarian in certain circumstances. Interested parties can view the proposed changes on the State House website by clicking on the following link and typing in 4926 at https://www.scstatehouse.gov/regnsrch.php. Both the Senate Medical Affairs Committee and the House Regulations and Administrative Procedures Committee will consider the proposed regulation during the 2020 legislative session which begins Tuesday, January 14, 2020. Be sure to check the State House website calendar each Friday afternoon after 3:00 p.m. for the committees’ meeting schedules.

    The Board of Pharmacy has also proposed changes to the SC Code of Regulations, Chapter 99, regarding facility permit classifications.  The intent of the regulation change is to clarify the classifications of permits issued by the Board and to provide the minimum standards required for the issuance of such permits.
