Renew My License

The deadline to renew 2024-2026 Burglar Alarm (BAC) and Fire Alarm (FAC) Contractor Licenses was October 29, 2024. Licenses that were not renewed prior to the deadline are now cancelled. To request reinstatement of a license, you must submit an initial application, Document #130.

License Renewals for 2026-2028 will open in May 2026.

Accessing the Online Renewal Software

To access the online renewal software or Document Submission, you must have a valid email on file with the Board. If you do not currently have an email address on file with the Board or you need to change your email address, please email the Board at contact.CLB@llr.sc.gov with your license name, license number, last 5 digits of your FEIN number and your current email address.

All licenses must be renewed separately by license credential number; however, the online renewal application process features a proxy payment link. This will enable the licensee to email a link to a third party for payment. For privacy and security purposes, the third party will only have access to information such as name, license type and number and payment amount. The licensee is responsible for following up with the proxy to ensure payment is made timely for their renewal.

Certificate of Insurance Requirements

In order to renew your license, a current Certificate of Liability Insurance (minimum amount $100,000) must be on file with the Board indicating the SC Contractor's Licensing Board as the "Certificate Holder" on the form. The policy of comprehensive general liability insurance must provide for the following minimum coverage: one hundred thousand dollars due to bodily injury, death, or destruction of property as the result of the negligent act or acts of the principal insured. Please submit this information via the Document Submission portal.

Making Changes to Qualifying Parties and Registered Employees

All licensees must verify their Qualifying Party(s) and Registered Employees (BAC only) during the renewal process. Prior to renewing your license, you may view this information online via LLR Licensee Lookup. If you need to make any changes to the information on file with the Board, please submit the appropriate form below via Document Submission or email.

To delete a Qualifying Party, please submit correspondence on company letterhead with their name and last date of employment. For all other requests, please utilize the following applications:

Alarm System Main Office: $200 Includes 1 primary qualifying party (PQP)

Branch Office (Burglar Alarm): $50 (Includes 1 PQP)

Additional Qualifying Party: $10 each

Late Renewal Penalties:

Up to 30 days: Late Fee $100 + Renewal Fee

31-60 days: Late Fee $150 + Renewal Fee

61-90 days: Late Fee $175 + Renewal Fee
