Renew My License
The deadline to renew 2024-2026 Burglar Alarm (BAC) and Fire Alarm (FAC) Contractor Licenses was July 31, 2024. Licenses that were not renewed before the deadline are now lapsed. You may still renew your license with additional late fees until October 29, 2024. Information about late fees can be found in the "Renewal Fees" section below.
Prior to accessing the online renewal system, all licenses are required to have a current Certificate of Liability Insurance (COI) on file with the Board. Please submit this information via the Document Submission portal. Once your COI has been accepted, you will be able to complete the online renewal. Please allow board staff 5-7 business days to update this information in our system. Documents are processed in the order received.
To access the online renewal software or Document Submission, you must have a valid email on file with the Board. If you do not currently have an email address on file with the Board or you need to change your email address, please email the Board at contact.CLB@llr.sc.gov with your license name, license number, last 5 digits of your FEIN number and your current email address.
- If you do not have your UserID, please click here to request this information be sent to the email on file with the Board.
- If you need to reset/recover your password, please click here and a link to reset your password will be emailed to you.
All licenses must be renewed separately by license credential number; however, the online renewal application process features a proxy payment link. This will enable the licensee to email a link to a third party for payment. For privacy and security purposes, the third party will only have access to information such as name, license type and number and payment amount. The licensee is responsible for following up with the proxy to ensure payment is made timely for their renewal.
In order to renew your license, a current Certificate of Liability Insurance (minimum amount $100,000) must be on file with the Board indicating the SC Contractor's Licensing Board as the "Certificate Holder" on the form. The policy of comprehensive general liability insurance must provide for the following minimum coverage: one hundred thousand dollars due to bodily injury, death, or destruction of property as the result of the negligent act or acts of the principal insured. Please submit this information via the Document Submission portal.
All licensees must verify their Qualifying Party(s) and Registered Employees (BAC only) during the renewal process. Prior to renewing your license, you may view this information online via LLR Licensee Lookup. If you need to make any changes to the information on file with the Board, please submit the appropriate form below via Document Submission or email.
