Renew My License

The deadline to renew 2022-2024 Fire Sprinkler Contractor licenses without late penalty was July 31, 2022. Licensed that were not renewed prior to the deadline are now lapsed. Licenses may still be renewed until November 28, 2022, with late penalty. After November 28, 2022, you must submit an initial application, Document #145.

As a reminder, you must have a current Certificate of Liability Insurance and current NICET certifications for all qualifying parties on file with the Board. Please submit this information via the Document Submission portal and allow board staff 5-7 business days to update this information in our system. After this information has been updated, you will be able to renew your license online.

2022-2024 Fire Sprinkler License Renewals

To begin the renewal process for your license, all licensees must have in place the following:

  1. a current Certificate of Liability Insurance (minimum amount $100,000) on file with the board, indicating the "Certificate Holder" as the SC Contractor's Licensing Board on the form.
  2. a current NICET Technician Certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology Automatic Sprinkler System Layout (Level III or Level IV) on file with the board for each qualifying party listed on the license.

You will be able to renew your license online once the documents you provided have been updated by staff to your license file. DUE TO THE LARGE VOLUME OF DOCUMENTS RECEIVED DURING RENEWALS, PLEASE ALLOW A MINIMUM OF AT LEAST 15 BUSINESS DAYS AFTER SUBMITTING YOUR DOCUMENT FOR STAFF TO UPDATE YOUR LICENSE FILE.

Licenses renewed/postmarked by July 31, 2022:

  • Main Office: $200 Includes 1 primary qualifying party (PQP)
  • Branch Office: $100 (Includes 1 PQP)
  • Additional Qualifying Party: $50

Renewals postmarked after July 31, 2022, add additional late fees:

  • August 1 - August 30, 2022 (30 days): Late Fee $100 + Renewal Fee
  • August 31 - September 29, 2022 (60 days): Late Fee $150 + Renewal Fee
  • September 30 - October 29, 2022 (90 days): Late Fee $200 + Renewal Fee
  • October 30 - November 28, 2022 (120 days): Late Fee $250 + Renewal Fee
Document Submission

Certificate of Insurance Requirements:

A current Certificate of Liability Insurance (minimum amount $100,000) must be on file with this office indicating the SC Contractor's Licensing Board as the "Certificate Holder" on the form. The policy of comprehensive general liability insurance must provide the minimum coverage of one hundred thousand dollars due to bodily injury, death, or destruction of property as the result of the negligent act or acts of the principal insured.

NICET Certificate:

Evidence of current NICET Technician Certification in Fire Protection Engineering Technology Automatic Sprinkler System Layout, Level III or IV must be submitted for each primary qualifying party and each qualifying party.
