ACONE
The Advisory Committee on Nursing Education (ACONE) is a standing committee appointed by the South Carolina Board of Nursing, established: 1) to advise and make recommendations to the Board regarding nursing education, including articulation and quality; 2) to review, according to prescribed guidelines as promulgated in regulation, applicant Nursing Education Programs and specifically make recommendations to the Board concerning the approval of a program application; and 3) to provide periodic reports on the Committee's projects and progress of the Committee to the Board.
The Committee is comprised of: two Graduate Educators, three Bachelors of Science in Nursing Educators, three Associate Degree in Nursing Educators, and three Practical Nursing Educators, with a designated representative from the South Carolina Deans and Directors Council for Nursing Education, as well as ex-officio representatives from the Board of Nursing, the South Carolina Nurses Association, the South Carolina Organization of Nurse Leaders, and the Nurse Consultant for Education Liaison.
The Committee meets every other month in February, April, June, August, October, and December. Meeting dates are posted on the calendar and agendas are available. Persons interested in positions on the ACONE should complete the application and forward the completed application along with resume or curriculum vitae and two letters of professional reference to NursingNominations@llr.sc.gov.
