Renew My License Online

Renewals are now open for Residential Builders, Home Inspectors, and Certificates of Authorization (COA). To avoid late penalties, please complete your renewal by June 30, 2026.

To access the renewal software, you must have a valid email on file with the Commission. If you do not currently have an email address on file with the Commission or you need to change your email address, please email the Commission at contact.RBC@llr.gov with your name, license/registration number, last 5 digits of your social security number or FEIN number and your current email address.

  • If you do not have your UserID, please click here to request this information be sent to the email on file with the Board.
  • If you have your user ID but need to reset/recover your password, please click here and a link to reset your password will be emailed to you.

All licenses/registrations must be renewed separately by license credential number; however, the online renewal application process features a proxy payment link. This will enable the licensee to email a link to a third party for payment. For privacy and security purposes, the third party will only have access to information such as name, license type and number and payment amount. The licensee is responsible for following up with the proxy to ensure payment is made timely for their renewal.

2026-2028 Residential Builder License Renewals

Renewals for the 2026-2028 period are now open for Residential Builders.

To avoid late penalties, please complete your renewal by June 30, 2026.

Surety Bond
Before renewing your license online, you must have a current surety bond on file with the Commission.

If your bond expires on or before July 1, 2026, please upload a new Surety Bond or Surety Bond Continuation Form via Document Submission.

Submission Requirements
All submissions require the following:

  • Signatures: Must include the Surety's and Principal's original signatures (DocuSign is not accepted).
  • Seal: The surety company seal must be visible.
  • Attachment: Include the Power of Attorney document.

Note: If the original bond is already on file, only the continuation certificate is required.

Fees
Residential Builder Licenses renewed on or before June 30, 2026: Fee is $220

Renewals postmarked after June 30, 2026, will have late fees applied as follows::

  • July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027: Late Fee $50 + Renewal Fee $220 = $270
  • After June 30, 2027, you must reinstate with a fee of $480 ($220 renewal fee + $260 reinstatement fee).
2026-2028 Home Inspector Renewals

Renewals for the 2026-2028 period are now open for Home Inspectors.

To avoid late penalties, please complete your renewal by June 30, 2026.

Fees
Home Inspector License renewed on or before June 30, 2026: Fee is $160

Renewals postmarked after June 30, 2026, will have late fees applied as follows:

  • July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027: Late Fee 90 + Renewal Fee $160 = $250
  • After June 30, 2027, you must reinstate with a fee of $360 ($160 renewal fee + $200 reinstatement fee).
2026-2027 Certificate of Authorization (COA) Renewals

Renewals for the 2026-2027 are now open for Certificates of Authorization.

Please complete your renewal by June 30, 2026. After June 30, 2026 you will be required to reapply.

Licensee in Responsible Charge
Before you can renew the firm's Certificate of Authorization (COA), the Resident Licensee in Responsible Charge (RLRC) must first:

  1. Renew their individual license or registration.
  2. Submit the Resident Licensee in Responsible Charge RLRC Affidavit via Document Submission.

Once the RLRC is renewed, the firm will be notified via email to complete the online COA renewal.

2025-2027 Residential Specialty Electrical/Plumbing/HVAC License Late Renewals

The deadline to renew a Residential Specialty license, without penalty was June 30, 2025.

Licenses that were not renewed by that deadline must now complete the renewal application, along with the applicable renewal fee and late fee. The deadline for late renewal is June 30, 2026. If not renewed on or before this deadline, the license can no longer be renewed and a reinstatement application will be required.

2025-2027 Residential Specialty Registration Late Renewals

The deadline to renew a Residential Specialty registration, without penalty was June 30, 2025.
