Building Code Enforcement Officer's Educational Fund Payment Policy
In an effort to assure the most effective use of the Building Code Enforcement Officer's Educational Fund, training and certification examinations will be paid by the Council for it's registrants in the following manner.
The fees for all certification examinations and associated training will be paid for individuals registered in the Provisional Classification, until they reach the certification level for the positions for which they were hired. If a registrant fails to pass the first examination for a specific discipline, the Council will pay for one additional examination in that discipline. If the registrant fails to pass the examination a second time, payment for all subsequent examinations, will be the responsibility of the registrant and/or jurisdiction. Payment for certifications not required for registration will be the responsibility of the registrant and/or jurisdiction.
The fees for certification examinations and associated training will be paid for individuals registered in the Limited Classification, to qualify for their present positions. If a registrant fails to pass the first examination for a specific discipline, the Council will pay for one additional examination in that discipline. If the registrant fails to pass the examination a second time, payment for all subsequent examinations, will be the responsibility of the registrant and/or jurisdiction. Payment for certifications not required for registration will be the responsibility of the registrant and/or jurisdiction.
The fees for courses for continuing education will be paid for all registered individuals, up to the 24 hours required for each registration cycle. Payment for additional continued education will be the responsibility of the registrant and/or jurisdiction.
Council will pay for the cost of paper examinations. For registrants desiring to take computer examinations, Council will pay the cost of the equivalent paper examination, and the difference will be the responsibility of the registrant and/or jurisdiction.
Council will not pay for practice examinations.
