The Board of Genetic Counselors regulates genetic counselors in South Carolina. The board licenses genetic counselors who have received appropriate education, experience and supervision, and who are competent in communicating with the public regarding the human problems associated with the occurrence, or the risk of occurrence, of a genetic disorder in a family, including the provision of services to help an individual or family.
