License Renewal Resource

Online renewals are now open until midnight December 31, 2024.

Online renewal is available twenty-four (24) hours a day. If you have not accessed your e-service account in a while, you may need to reset/recover your password. Go to the "Recover/Reset My Password" web link at https://eservice.llr.sc.gov/SSO/Login/RecoverPass/, and a link to reset your password will be emailed to you. You must have a current email address on file with the Board to be able to reset your password. If you do not have a current email address on file with the Board, please email the Board at contact.socialwork@llr.sc.gov with your name, license number, birth year and current email address before attempting to renew your license. A current email address must be kept on file with the Board at all times.

The online renewal application process features a proxy payment link. This will enable the licensee to email a link to a third party (such as their employer) for payment. For privacy and security purposes, the third party will only have access to information such as name, license type and number and payment amount. The licensee is responsible for following up with the proxy to ensure payment is made timely for their renewal.

BIENNIAL RENEWAL FEE SCHEDULE

  • Licenses renewed/postmarked on or before December 31, 2024, fee is $90.
  • Renewed/postmarked January 1, 2025 to January 31, 2025, additional penalty fee of $50 applied.
  • On February 1, 2025, licenses not renewed will lapse and must be reinstated with a reinstatement application.
  • Practice is not allowed after December 31, 2024, until a valid renewal or reinstatement form has been completed and accepted.
  • You may verify the status of your renewal via Licensee Lookup . Please allow 48 business hours after renewing online to verify the status of your license.
Continuing Education

CE Broker is the CE tracking system of the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners. If you have not registered with CE Broker, you will need to create your free account at CE Broker.

Update Personal Name, Address or Email

If you have not accessed your e-service account in a while, you may need to reset/recover your username or password. Go to the Forgot User Name or Forgot Password web links. To be able to reset your password you must have a current email address on file with the board.

Personal Name Change

You can submit the applicable name change documentation (marriage certificate, divorce decree, etc.) online via Document Submission by visiting the Manage My License page or by sending an email to contact.socialwork@llr.sc.gov with the following information:

  • Name
  • License number
  • Last 5 of SSN
  • Copy of marriage certificate, divorce decree, etc.

Address or Email

You can update an address or email address online by visiting the Manage My License page or by sending an email to contact.socialwork@llr.sc.gov with the following information:

  • Name
  • License number
  • Last 5 of SSN
  • Current Address or Email

A current email address must be kept on file with the board at all times. The board requests licensees wait 24 hours after submitting name, email or address change requests to allow the system to update. Renewals processed prior to system update will not reflect the updated information.
