To Move from Inactive Status to Active Status, licensees must submit the following:
Step 1: Proof of Continuing Education, if applicable
Step 2: Complete the Reactivation Application
Step 3: Review the Reactivation Application Submission Instructions
Step 4: Submit Reactivation Application, Proof of Continuing Education, and Reactivation fee via Document Submission in the Licensee Portal
Step 5: Criminal Background Check, if not done 2021 or later
Once a completed application is submitted, please allow 7-10 Business days for a processor to review the documentation. If additional information is needed, the processor will email you.
Per SC Code Ann. § 40-57-110(B), a licensee may place a license on inactive status. Inactive status licenses are to be renewed in the same manner as active licenses and are prohibited from engaging in the practice of real estate or property management (SC Code Ann. §§ 40-57-20 and 40-57-780).

Once a completed application is submitted, please allow 3-5 business days for a processor to review the documentation. If additional information is needed, the processor will email you.
An email from DONOTREPLY@llr.sc.gov will be sent to your email once the license is placed on Inactive.
Online Transfer Service. This electronic process allows changes to go into effect immediately and does not require the Broker-in-Charge's signature. The Broker-in-Charge will be notified via email. For Salesperson, Broker, Property Manager (Active Status Only).
BIC/PMIC Step-down and Transfer. This is for BIC or PMC licensees stepping down and becoming a broker or property manager. Submit to the Commission via email at contact.rec@llr.sc.gov.

Step 1: obtain legal name change documentation, if updating the name.
For Example: Marriage Certificate, Marriage License, Divorce decree, or any other legal court documentation
Step 2: Complete the Name/Address Change form
Step 3: Review the Name/Address Change Document Submission Instructions
Step 4: Submit the legal name change documentation and Name/Address form via the Licensee portal.
*You will need to pay the $10 fee for the name/address change through the document submission.
Please allow 3-5 Business days for a processor to update the information on file.
A current email address must be kept on file with the Commission at all times.
